Unusual Flies tell Us about Upcoming Rains

For the past three days, we’ve experienced continuous rain, which has brought much-needed relief from the summer heat. The soil has eagerly absorbed every drop, finally quenched after months of thirst. Today, the sun is back, shining with a new sense of authority, as if it has been promoted to boss!

However, I’ve noticed an unusual phenomenon: a surge of flies appearing all over the place. These flies typically emerge from the soil overnight and die within hours. This pattern seems to signal that another round of rain may be on the horizon. Perhaps the sun knows this too, which is why it’s working hard to provide ample nourishment to the plants before the next showers arrive.
