Taro (சேம்புக்கிழங்கு / ചേമ്പ്) is a healthy and tasty food for yester year keralites. I initially had doubts whether our soil and weather will suit this but it grown really well. I am happy for it.

The root is easily cooked quicker than other similar root produces. Apart from root, even the plant’s stem can also be used as a vegetable alternate for sambar/curry.

This season i will start making the saplings in our nursery and give to friends who might want to try.
